El Mariachi Azteca was founded in Laredo , TX on April 12, 2008 by Luis “T.J.” Tinajero Sr. Six of our members performed for many years with El Mariachi Aztlan de Laredo which disbanded in December of 2007 after 20 successful years of entertaining the City of Laredo and the greater south Texas . Since its inception, El Mariachi Azteca has been able to acquire seven talented musicians that have greatly contributed to the contemporary sound of our unique style of both traditional and more eclectic mariachi music. On August 09, 2008, and just shy of five months of existence as a musical force, El Mariachi Azteca was extremely honored by the opportunity to perform with the great Vicky Carr. El Mariachi Azteca is ready to bring you our energetic and inimitable musical arrangements for your next social event whether it be a wedding, quinciañera, anniversary, or birthday celebration your guests will be treated to a most memorable performance.
